Terms of Use — Geninho

1. Acceptance

By creating an account, accessing, or using Geninho, you declare that you have read and agree to these Terms of Use.

2. Scope of the service

Geninho is an educational-support app for families, with features for:

  • organizing classes, activities, and study routines,
  • registering school years, subjects, and topics,
  • OCR import for schedules, calendars, and content,
  • AI-generated study plans,
  • quiz-based validation of study completion,
  • gamification with coins, achievements, and rewards.

3. Accounts and profiles

  • Users must provide accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Child profiles are managed by guardians linked to the same family.
  • The user is responsible for the security of their account and device.

4. Permitted use

You may use Geninho for personal and educational purposes, in a lawful manner.

You may not:

  • attempt to break into, tamper with, or exploit systems without authorization,
  • try to cheat plan limits,
  • distribute, resell, or copy parts of the app without authorization,
  • use the app for unlawful or offensive purposes.

5. Free and Premium plans

  • The Free plan has usage limits.
  • The Premium plan raises or removes limits, as described inside the app.
  • Billing, renewal, and cancellation follow App Store rules.

6. AI, OCR, and third-party-generated content

6.1 Origin of the content

Significant portions of the content shown in Geninho — including quiz questions, explanations, study plans, OCR structuring, and Geninho chat responses — are produced by third-party artificial-intelligence systems, in particular:

  • OpenAI (ChatGPT / GPT),
  • Google Gemini,
  • Microsoft Azure OpenAI (when configured).

These models are probabilistic and may, at any time, produce content that is:

  • factually, logically, or mathematically incorrect;
  • out of date with the current school curriculum;
  • pedagogically unsuitable for a given age or grade;
  • at odds with the student’s own school’s official answers;
  • occasionally sensitive, offensive, or out of scope, despite the moderation mechanisms.

6.2 We do not author or edit the generated content

Geninho does not manually write the questions, answers, or explanations produced by the AI. We act as a technological intermediary: we send the required context to the AI provider and display the response to the user inside a controlled experience. For that reason, we are not responsible for the specific content generated by the AI on each interaction.

6.3 Mitigation mechanisms we offer

To reduce risks, Geninho provides:

  • automated review of the quiz before it is shown to the student;
  • shuffled answer options;
  • a “replace question” button that logs feedback;
  • automated classification of free-chat questions, blocking clearly inappropriate content;
  • a guardian review panel for flagged questions (direct answer keys, sensitive content, suspicious requests);
  • a standing recommendation to verify OCR-imported data manually.

These mechanisms are a risk-reduction effort, not a guarantee that content is 100% correct or appropriate.

6.4 User responsibility

By accepting these Terms, you acknowledge that:

  • you understand the content is AI-generated and may contain errors;
  • you are responsible for critically reviewing any content before applying it (studying, taking an exam, making a pedagogical decision, etc.);
  • Geninho does not replace a teacher, school, textbook, or official materials; it is a support tool only;
  • when in doubt, you should confirm information with qualified human sources (teachers, school coordination, school materials);
  • if you find inappropriate content, you should report it through the app’s channels (question feedback, replace flow, or email suporte@geninho.app.br).

6.5 YouTube

The app may suggest YouTube videos as reinforcement only when that permission is enabled on the student’s profile. YouTube content belongs to third parties and follows its own terms and policies — Geninho does not produce, moderate, or take responsibility for that content.

7. Study completion and rewards

  • Study completion may require quiz validation, depending on the student’s profile configuration.
  • Coin rewards are virtual and have no monetary value, and cannot be converted into money or goods outside the app.
  • Prizes registered by the family are solely the responsibility of the guardians; Geninho does not broker, guarantee, or deliver physical prizes.

8. Intellectual property

The Geninho brand, visual identity, code, layout, original text, and other original components are protected by applicable intellectual-property rights. Use of the app does not grant a license over those elements.

9. Limitation of liability

9.1 Nature of the service

Geninho is an educational-support tool, provided “as is” and “as available” (as is / as available), within the limits allowed by Brazilian law.

9.2 Items Geninho is not responsible for

To the fullest extent allowed by Brazilian law, Geninho and its developer are not responsible for:

  • AI-generated content — including, but not limited to, questions, answers, explanations, study plans, OCR structuring, and chat responses (see section 6);
  • pedagogical, academic, or other decisions the user makes based on the app’s suggestions;
  • school performance, grades, exam outcomes, or specific academic results;
  • unavailability, delays, or failures of third-party services the app relies on (Apple, Google, OpenAI, Azure, telecom networks, internet providers);
  • data loss caused by third-party service outages or failures on the user’s device;
  • indirect damages, lost profits, or consequential damages not provided for by law.

9.3 Consumer rights

This limitation does not waive the rights granted to consumers by the Consumer Defense Code (Law No. 8,078/1990) or by the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (Law No. 13,709/2018). Defects in the app itself (not in third-party content) will be handled under those laws and through the support channel suporte@geninho.app.br.

10. Termination and deletion

  • The user can request account deletion from within the app.
  • Geninho may suspend accounts in the event of a breach of these Terms or a legal requirement.

11. Updates to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect legal, technical, and product changes. The current version is always available in the app and through official channels.
